From Gesualdo to Sting
From Gesualdo to Sting
ARNR 0996
Format: Digipack
The first recording of the Saexophones, the classical "cult" saxophone quartet known for their acclaimed concerts with unusual programs and daring approach.
Like Kronos or the Balanescu in the field of string quartets, the Saexophones love musical digressions, often arranging medieval or renaissance music, or dedicating themselves passionately to contemporary music and not looking down on well-known rock or pop tunes.
The pieces here range from medieval dances and the madrigals of Gesualdo da Venosa, to Bach, Mozart, Gershwin, Piazzolla, the Beatles and Sting.
