CUTTING EDGE
The Cutting Edge series features innovative productions of contemporary electronic music, chill-out and lounge. Femme fatale Giorì provides an archetype for French chanson of the 21st century. The Paris-based MJA (Metropolitan Jazz Affair) is at the leading edge of Nu-Jazz, combining their trumpet-and fender rhodes-driven group sound with guest vocalists and saxophonists. Projects such as "Bloom" and the Diana Garden line are "designer compilations" which create a musical and lifestyle atmosphere in collaboration with trend-setting Italian clubs.

MJA came into being the end of 2001 as a collaboration between the well-known Bruno Hovart, aka Patchworks (Rainer Trub, Gilles Peterson, Richard Dorfmeister, Nick Weston, Morpheus), the outstanding trumpet master Stephane Ronget and pianist Benjamin Devigne' from Colorblind.
The sound of MJA has rapidly established itself because it is at the core of the break-through trend of Electro Jazz, also called Nu-Jazz. This innovative genre is born from true jazz spirit and is currently ruling the dance floors of the world thanks to active underground labels such as Compost (Rainer Truby) or Jazz Land (Bugge Wesseltoft).
The album features outstanding performances of guests including singers Eric Duperray (Guidance, Glasgow Underground, Rotax Records), Sandra Mandengue' (Maeza, Colorblind) and the sax player David Prez (Colorblind).
All the songs are written and performed in french.

The "DIANA" is known as the unique place of meeting point for the atmosphere of the fashion field, the show, the culture and the liberal professionalism. Bloom, the trend-setting, Italian design restaurant and club in the Eternal City, joins the musical fray of New Europe by releasing its first compilation of chill out and lounge music loved by V.N.P.'s "Very Nice People".
In the style of internationally successful compilations of locations such as Budda Bar, Diana Garden and Hotel Costes, Bloom's musical atmosphere takes you just a few steps away from Piazza Navona, to one of the most original and fashionable places in Rome.
Like the club's interior design, with contributions from Philip Stark and lamps designed by the Milanese Wonderkammer in the setting of the remains of a 14th century church, the music is an eclectic compilation of re-mixed 60'ies funk with tinges of the orient, breathy French femme fatales "talkin' 'bout my generation" to George Jetson treatments of Nu Jazz.
One Night in Bloom is a cutting-edge collection including tracks from artists such as Thievery Corporation (with a blistering track of instrumental 60'ies funk featuring horns), Mo' Horizons and 21st century chanteuse Giorì, remixes by Dorfmeister vs. Uptight Productions (with a great lounge dance groove) and a reworking of Nicola Conte's "Jet Sounds",as well as up-and-coming artist Vimana (with Indian-tinged electro grooves).
Mixed as a pulsating DJ set, One Night in Bloom will keep you going to "7h du Matin".
