NEW MUSIC
The New Music Series presents performances by contemporary composers such as Arvo Paert, Henrik Gorecki, Terry Riley, Steve Reich, Hans Otte, Michael Vetter and Astor Piazzolla. Younger, perhaps less known, though certainly no less interesting composers include Gianfranco Pernaiachi, Ludovico Einaudi, Savio Riccardi and Thomas Fortmann. We are pleased to present creative new ensembles and solists such as harpist Cecilia Chailly and flutist Andrea Ceccomori, as well as Michael Vetter and Terry Riley, great interpreters of their own works. The editorial line of the New Music series is addressed to all listeners interested in contemporary music and especially in the American minimalist movement and its European branches, in post-minimalism, neo-romanticism, and in particular to all forms of new sacred music.

Evoking a feeling of infinity, as the album's title suggests, these electronic compositions by Matteo Silva are sonic landscapes in which the listener can lose himself, and in which time and space dissolve into one another.
"Ad Infinitum" is a composition in five parts, and a key characteristic is the exploration of immobility within the movement of sound.
Although in this work one perceives distant echoes of Cage, Scelsi, Minimalism and Far Eastern music, it is pervaded by an undeniable originality.

"Songs for Sumera" contains eleven compositions for piano and orchestra composed by noted painter, composer and pianist Mark Kostabi.
The orchestrations are by Lepo Sumera and the performance is by the internationally acclaimed Estonian National Symphony Orchestra directed by Kristjan Jarvi, with Maano Manni as solo violinist and Mark Kostabi on piano.
The performance was recorded at the Hall of the Merchant Guild in Tallinn in the year 2000.
In the CD format, this Amiata production presents Kostabi's precious music together with an elaborate hardcover CD-sized book with fold-out pages of more than 50 of Kostabi's paintings.
