ARNR 0796
Format: Digipack
Written and pronounced with the short "a" vowel, "sat" means being, essence and truth in the modern Indo-Aryan languages. On the other hand, lengthening the "a", "sayt" indicates the symbolic number seven.
The relationship between these two meanings lies at the heart of the artistic output of the group Nefi, the multi-instrumental trio who is joined here by the Saphir String Quartet (3+4=7), as well as guests including noted accordionist Gianni Coscia.
A union of ambient, World and western classical sounds inspired by Sufism and the Middle East, the music is a multicolored work and a meeting between East and West.
Classical guitar, flutes, saxophones, accordion, tabla, percussion, harmonic singing, and a string quartet create a recording not to be missed by those who are curious and by those who love to fly far away on the wings of sound.
