Kontômè (spirits) is an inspiring collection of some of Gabin Dabirés most alluring poetry, which, in accordance with his West African tradition, is integrated within a musical setting.
The engaging songs and charismatic vocals in this recording feature several new gems to delight the heart.
A beautiful song album of a great living African musician. Simple, profound and direct.
The Kontômè are idols that every household keeps in the same room as the altar. These icons represent the ancestral spirits, the guiding light of the family and society as a whole. These idols belong to the religious traditions of the Dagara tribe, an ethnic group native to Burkina Faso.
The Kontômè light our path throughout the course of our lives. We pray to them, we ask their advice and we thank them for what we are and what we have, now and in the future. In return, they help us as our destiny unfolds.
Therefore, through this small musical work, I thank my Kontômè and everyone else who, with infinite patience and determination, cooperated in the realization of this project.
